Singapore Airlines’ new Capital Express services commenced today at Canberra Airport with Aerocare as ground handler.
The Boeing 777-200 services will be operated four times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) on a Singapore-Canberra-Wellington routing, with return flights on a Wellington-Canberra-Singapore routing.
A 9:50 service departs Canberra bound for Wellington New Zealand, with the return service departing Canberra for Singapore at 23:30.
Aerocare Chief Executive Officer Glenn Rutherford said: “Aerocare has been working extremely hard in anticipation of today’s launch and were ready to hit the ground running.”
“We have an exceptional team in Canberra, including around 40 individuals recruited for this service, whose delivery for Singapore Airlines will be safe, efficient and seamless,” Mr Rutherford said.
Singapore Airlines is the first airline with flights between Canberra and Wellington, and the first airline to operate regularly scheduled international services to and from Canberra.
Aerocare is the largest ground handler within the Australian and New Zealand region, with 3,000 team members currently servicing 3,200 flights per week and 41,200 passengers per day.
