Aerocare congratulates Scoot on five successful years in the air.
On 4 June 2012 Singapore-based Scoot began its first flight to Sydney Airport and a week later it started flying to the Gold Coast, with Perth flights commencing late the following year, and Melbourne in 2015.
“In 2012, Scoot was an exciting new start-up with an ambitious timeline,” says Aerocare CEO Glenn Rutherford.
“They entered the market with different philosophies about low-cost, longer-haul travel and they’ve made a big impact.
“We’ve worked hard to help Scoot deliver impeccable service, their unique personality, and their model of customers only paying for what matters to them.
“We’ve always felt there was a good alignment between our businesses, both challenging the market, looking for fresher perspectives and different ways to do things,” Mr Rutherford said.
Aerocare has enjoyed working closely with Scoot to support various activities over the past five years, including the introduction of an all-787 fleet.
Aerocare provides ground handling services for Scoot at Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast airports.
Singapore-based Scoot flies to twelve destinations in Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea and Australia.
Aerocare is the largest ground handler within the Australian and New Zealand region, with more than 3,000 team members currently servicing 3,200 flights per week and 41,200 passengers per day.
