Aerocare congratulates Tigerair on ten years in Australia. The airline launched on 23 November 2007, proudly supported by Aerocare as ground handler.
As part of the start-up, Aerocare worked closely with the then Singaporean-owned, low-cost carrier Tiger Airways to achieve the lowest possible fares and an ambitious launch timeline of eight operations in six weeks.
Aerocare CEO Glenn Rutherford said a complete ground handling solution was developed for Tiger including designing processes, producing the airline’s ground handling manual, developing software, and taking care of all IT systems and infrastructure, recruitment, training, GSE and uniforms.
“In November 2007, only 47 days after our contract was signed, Aerocare began providing Tiger’s complete network-wide ground handling operation, which continues to be one of Australia’s most reliable and cost-efficient,” Mr Rutherford said.
“We congratulate our good friends at Tigerair on ten years, and look forward to partnering with them for many, many more.”
Tigerair is now a fully owned subsidiary of Virgin Australia and currently operates 14 Airbus 320 and three Boeing 737 aircraft for 600 flights per week over 24 routes to 13 Australian destinations.
Aerocare is the largest ground handler within the Australian and New Zealand region, with more than 3,000 team members currently servicing 3,200 flights per week and 41,200 passengers per day.
